ABOUT US
Welcome to Because GOLF.
Hi, and thank you for visiting. Because GOLF is simply (at the moment), myself and a few friends who do golf events for different charities.
My name is Ian. I work full-time as head chef at a very popular 24 bedroom hotel & restaurant in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, directly on the NC500. I have a family and after them and work commitments, my main love is golf.
Time is precious and every moment on the course is my own spare time.
Over a year ago, I started to think .... If I have ONE full day a year, put aside, JUST to play golf. Why not make it matter ??
That is when I decided to create Because GOLF. If I am playing anyway, Why not play for charity ?
What we do
Charity Through Golf
We provide money for charities through the game of golf.
How it works
Presently, we are personally choosing our own charities. After initial contact with them, we set up a just giving page and the rest is straight forward. We get as many sponsors as we can and raise as much money as we can.
If any free promotional aids are available, we happily receive and use them, otherwise, ALL other expenses are our own. We donate 100% of ALL donations given, and even "DONATE OURSELVES". We DO NOT charge for venue fees, travel fees, insurance fees or anything. 100% goes to your charity,
How we can help
We would love to hear from you. If you are a charity, that is registered or can be confirmed, no matter HOW small, we are more than willing to put you into consideration for one of our charity golf events on your behalf. As we move forward, we hope to help more "local" or "independently" run charities, as opposed to the larger ones. See our contact page for further information. Thank You.

This year we have 3 other golfers who are willing to help.
2024 (Solo) - Men's Prostate Cancer.
